Reception and waiting areas
Document expectations for entrance glass, reception counters, seating, tables, floors, visible dust, trash, and shared environmental touchpoints.
Consider patient volume, children’s areas, beverage stations, and how quickly the space must be ready before opening.
Exam and treatment rooms
Identify the environmental surfaces included in the commercial cleaning scope and which tasks remain with trained clinical staff.
Clearly separate routine environmental cleaning from instrument sterilization, regulated clinical procedures, and medical-waste responsibilities.
Restrooms and handwashing areas
Define cleaning frequency for fixtures, partitions, mirrors, dispensers, floors, touchpoints, trash, and consumable replenishment.
High patient volume or shared building restrooms may require a different schedule from a small appointment-only practice.
Administrative and staff spaces
Include approved office areas, break rooms, conference rooms, staff restrooms, interior glass, floors, and shared touchpoints.
Document any rooms, cabinets, desks, or equipment the cleaning team should not move or access.
Quality review and communication
Assign a facility contact, define how concerns are reported, and agree on how changes to the scope are approved.
A room-by-room checklist and periodic review make it easier to distinguish a missed task from work that was never included.
